KALDHARA was founded in Berlin in 2015 as a label for handmade felt rugs. The name dates back to the time when I travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal to work with local artisans. Working closely with them, I created the first hand-felted rugs that laid the foundation for the label.

Between 2016 and 2019, I had an office and showroom in the Kaldhara district of Kathmandu – an inspiring time that not only shaped the name of the label, but also cemented the deep connection to the local artisan culture.
During this years, I also discovered the traditional Radhi rug and became captivated by its heritage and craftsmanship. I began to reinterpret the Radhi in both form and color, a creative exploration that continues to shape my work today. Handmade rugs  remain an essential part of my work to this day.

2023, I have quit what became a regular rug business to set the focus on the creative work again and dedicated myself to the production of unique pieces in the field of textile art and collectible design.
I create unique pieces from wool, felt and jute. In addition to wall hangings and objects, I further refine the rugs originating from Nepal.

Each piece is a handmade work of textile art that combines the tradition of ancient craftsmanship with my contemporary signature.
